El esfuerzo que el legislador está llevando a cabo en la articulación de respuestas adecuadas a las nuevas realidades y retos que las nuevas tecnologías suscitan, se pone de manifiesto en recientes reformas legales y desarrollos jurisprudenciales en los diversos temas que serán tratados en este Congreso.
Las Universidades convocantes, en la mejor tradición jesuítica del “ver, juzgar y actuar” y respondiendo a sus valores, pretenden con este Congreso y partiendo de un conocimiento cercano de la realidad, llevar a cabo un análisis jurídico, tecnológico y ético de la misma a través de una reflexión crítica que pueda contribuir a formular propuestas que incidan en una mejora en la tutela de los derechos de los sujetos que pueden verse afectados por esta nueva era de las tecnologías. The “Law and New Technologies” International Conference called by the Law Departments of the Universities of Deusto, Pontificia Comillas in Madrid and Ramón Llull, is to provide multidisciplinary reflection on the Legal challenges brought by the increasingly fast and significant progress in the new technologies. The legislator’s efforts in enacting suitable responses to the new realities and challenges brought in by the new technologies are seen by the recent legal reforms and case law developments in the different areas which will be dealt with at this Conference.
The Universities making this call, in the best Jesuit tradition of “see, judge and act” and responding to their values, seek with this Conference and starting from a close knowledge of the reality to carry out a legal, technological and ethical analysis of this issue using critical reflection which could contribute to formulating proposals with an impact on the best protection of the rights of the individuals who could be affected by this new technological era.
