Bufete Barrilero y Asociados appoints Carlos Aranguren Echevarria as new partner of the firm. The new partner oversees the firm’s banking law division. After this latest appointment the firm now has a total of 18 partners in Spain
Bilbao, January 2018. Bufete Barrilero y Asociados has named Carlos Aranguren Echevarria. Law Graduate from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid with a Master’s Degree in Corporate Law from the University of Navarre as their latest partner. He has worked at the firm since the beginning of his professional career. Having developed his career in the area of procedural law, he now oversees the banking law division, leading a highly specialized team of attorneys.
In the field of banking litigation he has defended the interests of the principal national banks in issues such as financial derivatives-swap-, subordinated debentures and mortgage floor clauses. Moreover, such is the extent of his knowledge of mercantile, corporate, insolvency and civil law that it has enabled him to join and lead a large number of corporate restructuring transactions, insolvency, civil and mercantile law proceedings, as well as arbitration procedures. He has taken part in proceedings before the Courts of First Instance, Provincial Courts within Spain and has led a wide range of proceedings before the Supreme Court of Spain.
