Women, Gender Equality and Entrepreneurship Forum

Antonio Tena, partner at Bufete Barrilero y Asociados, analysed the role of women in legal practice; in fact, he said that over the past thirty years the legal profession has been female dominated. In addition, he gave the assistants information from the Biscay Bar Association, which shows that over 47% of the lawyers are women. The increasing role of female in the legal business is highly remarkable given the fact that in 1982 only 8% of lawyers were female. Moreover, it is surprising that nowadays 52% of the judges and magistrates are women, and 64% of under 50 years. In conclusion, in the future mainly women will practice the legal profession.
