Master of Laws Degree at Deusto University (1989). She has developed her professional career in Bufete Barrilero y Asociados, where she was appointed partner in 2001.

A corporate and business law specialist, she has over 30 years of experience in continuous assistance and in strategic business law advice to companies at the level of both propriety and management. In recent years she has focused her global perception and comprehensive management in assignments with legal consequences (value concept, opportunity and risk management) contributing to the definition of goals, strategic execution and implementation of solutions.

She is an expert in the execution of all responsibilities of the Secretary General of numerous companies or group of companies of whatever sector or activity (industrial, services, distribution, hospitality, restoration, professional football and real estate). She plays a key role as lawyer of the board of directors or as secretary non-manager of the board, in the comprehensive responsibility of the proper operation and interaction of the corporate structure, under existing regulation, the corporate culture and the good corporate governance, managing the obligations and duties of managers as well as risks inherent in the post.

At present she is, among other positions, secretary non-manager of the board of directors of a Spanish ‘La Liga’ football team.

She is a managing partner of the family business area of the firm and is an expert in defining and organizing family company groups: business and family issues; property and management generational renewal; generation, management and evolution of family business agreements; family business structure; operation and interaction of the governing bodies of the company; training family members; intergenerational communication, structures and managing the family office. She has accompanied and advised numerous family businesses in their complete organizational and structuring procedures and she is an independent manager to several family businesses’ family boards.

She is the M&A director of the firm and has led numerous sale and purchase agreements of company groups, companies, productive units, actives, shares, both majority and minority shareholders under all circumstances (friendly, hostile, in the normal course of the activity or in a crisis situation). In this area, she manages the legal team of specialists that renders advice to several foreign funds on their investments in Spain, related to energy transition, renewable energies and energy efficiency.

Founder of “Barrilero Legal Angels”, a multidisciplinary team that accompanies and renders comprehensive legal advice to entrepreneurs to channel their business ideas. This team is a national reference to “Search Funds” investors.

Her knowledge and area of practice complements planning and execution of business structural modifications of mercantile companies of whatever type: transformations, mergers, spin-offs, partial “cession” of actives and passives.

Expert in obligations and agreements, especially in social agreements and management and solving corporate disputes, having taken part in and led numerous transactions (transactional agreements, judiciary and arbitral proceedings).

In the bankruptcy area, at present, she is a former member of the insolvency board of a listed company.

She is a regular speaker in numerous conferences (AEFAME, Asociación Gallega de la Empresa Familiar, Federación Vizcaína de Empresas del Metal, Comisión de Auditores de Cuentas, Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Vizcaya) and in many other training programs specifically geared towards the requirements of companies and family businesses.
