This week has held in Puerto Rico the 2024 INTERNATIONAL CLIENT SEMINAR (ICS), one of the most important events organised by ALFA INTERNATIONAL. Under the title “Reaching the Gold Standard: Collaboration and Creativity in a Competitiven Environment”, the seminar brought together leading firms from ALFA Internationalnnetwork with their clients in an appropriate atmosphere to interact and explore business opportunities in Spain.
Ignacio López-Balcells, M&A partner in the Barcelona office, attended the event and also participated in a panel discussion on Saturday 2 nd March together with Joel Hlavaty, lawyer of the firm Frantz Ward LLP located at Cleveland (Ohio) and Rob Bertram, chief legal officer of Cava Group Inc. located at Washington DC, titled “Keeping the gold: maintaining a successful business when transitioning from the boomer to the Net Generation and Generation Z”.
The roundtable discussed topics such what clients see for the future, the need for succession planning in order to maintain a business’ high standards and retain institutional knowledge, and ways to address the issues employers face with the aging and diminishing workforce, as well as the issues faced with those who don’t want to retire and those who retire at their desks.
